ive been busy,,and so it is what it is.that being said,being busy does'nt mean that ive not been in touch of fashion and trends.Doha is Doha,wether you like it or not,will never run out of trends.
so,being busy was never a hindrance to go SHOPPING!!!

the classic pump was given new life when YSL added a strip of fur at the back.
kaya ko lang naman na blog ito kasi si SHIEKHA R ay meron nito in black and gray.

its the "IT" pair of shoes for fall 2010.

Fatma Al Majid-a collaboration

a few weeks ago,i found myself extremely busy and collaborating with a qatari born designer, ms.Fatma Al Majid ,for her line ElDeseo which means "The Wish" in spanish.
for the theme.i suggested we do modern arabian princess,a blend of traditonal meeting the modern,using elegant fabrics,such as chiffon,draping it to give a more modern feel and with the use of silver accessories and swarovski ,for the edge.
she gave me the free range to design and conceptualize the look which showed in Dubai Fashion Week last October 24,2010.
here are some of the pieces we collaborated on from her 35 piece collection:




red chiffon with gray silk lining and border.the flowers were handmade(which me and my staff worked on laboriously)
from gray organza and added with gray biased organza ruffles and red ostrich feathers. this was one the three additional pieces we worked on,for the fashion show



black chiffon with red chiffon handmade flowers

turquoise chiffon and silk with silver beading and swarovski natar.
natar in arabic means sprinkle.
note-the hand chiffon pattern took us some time to study since i wanted a handkerchief piece attached at the back of the sleeve.

the silk obi has a brooch made from swarovski  silver crystals.

sapphire blue chiffon with layered pouffed sleeves and swarovski cryastal decor.note on the hand-she couldnt understand it at first and she wanted me to remove it,but when the model wore it for the pictorial,she approved.



white chiffon dress with billowy sleevs and a swarovski patterned neckline.



this was one of the three last minute additional pieces we made for her since we wanted to showcase the fur trimming and the banig (weave)pattern for the lower part.

black jersey hooded dress with fur trimming and leather beaded neckline.a gamble from the very start when i suggested  it to her since she's not a big fan of trims.however,after she saw the finished product,she liked it.



mango colored chiffon dress  with billowy sleeves and swarovski pattererned neck piece.note on the holes on the shoulders,she couldnt figure out it at first,but like it after we finished it.



light rose chiffon dress with shirred torso and chiffon cape attached at the back.my signature beadwork appears on the front half side and half back.

cobalt blue jersey dress with batwing sleeves accented with beads on the collar and cuffs.

plum color chiffon dress with layered bodice.note on the beadwork,its around ten meters of half inched size beadwork and we had to handstitched it to the edge of the chiffon.



if plans push through,we plan on having another collaboration for another show by january 2011.

while its an ongoing trend,i see it strongly until spring 2011.subtlety,keeping it simple,breaking the look in pieces is how it should be worn.

my take on arts and crafts 101

 on MiharayaSuhiro spring 2011.by far this is one of the best looks he presented during ss11.it was soo ingrained in my thick skull(lol) couldnt sleep,kept tossing and turning uuntil i decided that enough was enough.

 see,,,when i get antsy and loopy and weird(don't we all) i dig deep and hard and look for something to alleviate my fashion craving.Zara had a sale few months ago.luckily i found a shirt with a hue similar to what i had in the pic.
got to purchase the plain shirt,,,took a pair of scissors,needle,thread,some old keys,chains,letter beads,and some hardware(legit na tawag sa studs) and voila!!!

did it!nakatulog din ako sa wakas.i have a distressed,holed,keyed,chained, studded and beaded shirt that got its inspiration from MihaharayaSuhiro ss11 tee.

order na kayo?!?!?!?lol

Balmain spring 2011

this is why i love Balmain sooo much .spring 2011 presented a sophisticated,yet GRITTY appeal to men who likes the rock and roll vibe,sans the musical instruments(believe me,,,all their outfits seem to need an electric guitar or a microphone.lol).
i also love the way they mix the formal and the casual to give us a fresh take on what is happening out there

                        love the cut of the jacket and the way it was layered with a plaid shirt and boots.

                             hmmm,,,printed tees with a scarf.i love the boho vibe this one gives out.

                                          white shirt under the black jacket....very james dean.

this is the look that i will be going for.i have similar pieces in my wardrobe,,, the boots,the cargo shorts and the hoodie.i heart the belt(40?!?!?u think age matters lol)

uhhh,,,lighten up...its just fashion.

Raina Hein

 if you have been watching ANTM,and its cycle 14,the battle of the final two was held in New Zealand,in an Anna Sui fashion show.the lucky BEYOTCH who won the title was Krista,and sadly my favorite girl Raina got second place.im sooo bwisit since Raina looks like Brooke Shields and her rival Krista who btw,had the number one photo every panel for two or three weeks running well looks like...well nuff said.
surprisingly,when i got the chance to go buy me some magazines here in Qatar (Nicole Richie,,,i love you gurllll,,,but who decided to make you look matronic here in the cover of Harpers Bazaar) i shrieked when i saw Raina's ad and decided to take pics to show you how beautiful she is.
beautiful...Raina,,,you may not have won ANTM cycle 14 but you've proven to all of us that losing didnt deter you from pursuing your dreams and making it in the international scene.

diba she is soooo ganda!!!!bellissima!!!and she got to ride the abras as what they call it in dubai.

FOUND!!!

Im back!!!well,,,,ive been busy since Neil Armstrong landed on the moon to the wonderful visit of Rimah Fakih(Miss USA)here in Doha last friday.skip the Miss Fakih visit here in Doha,and on to wonderful finds you see when you visit malls and certain stores in malls.lol

me likey-likey the black bag made out of 5(count that)recycled bottles.clearly Mark's and Spencer doing eco and me likey the fact that its done in black,done in the correct size and attractively printed with a message that subconsciously sticks to our mind to REDUCE,REUSE,RECYCLE.

 so,,,ive been proudly displaying this bag and it quite had an impact to what it can actually do in people.i was in the grocery today and normally i would get a big plastic bag to carry the stuff with ,,,but now i felt proud to have told the cashier "i'm going to use my ECO BAG."
(hindi nakapalag ang lola mo. LOL)

Tale of a Dress May 2010

it begins with a sketch.actually when a client comes up to me and says "i need a dress."i completely and obediently pull out my sketch pad and pencils to draft something for her.

SKETCH FIRST,ASK QUESTIONS LATER.

the second step-HYPNOTIZE them with BLING!lol

no...actually inform them with what materials youll be using with their dress.

my faves of course are SWAROVSKI,and beads.

the more shiny the more fun!lol

its all about PRESENTATION- when the client wants to see pre-finishing,we deliberately show them the pinned decor and unfinished hem,flower and other techniques we use to make the dress special.

out for display or having taken the picture,,i feel proud that i was able to finish the dress.

Americana

its often that i wear and indulge in clothes that are pastel hued.by the time i finished taking pics,i felt that a lot of the pastel pieces i owned was the pieces i loved most.

and its summer,so i let all these pieces integrate to what i normally wear with.

hmmm,,,,my closets a bit messed up.so i gotta clean up.LOL

plenty to work on this past few weeks but i managed to capture some photos of my favorites.

i do hope that i get to have an album printed sometime this year but the cost of printing it on paper is EXPENSIVE.(i wouldnt have money left for shoe shopping LOL)
