Max Azria Resort 2010

the designer, Lubov Azria's inspiration is that cool English girl- a bit bohemian, good legs, good fun,not afraid to wear her favorite pair of boots and pair it with a party dress.another forecast trend that i see -grecian,fluid shapes that fits light, not that tight on the body.

i see a variety of long and short looks but overall ,the collection stood out mainly because of its tailoring.very sharp in deatils and finishing.love it!!!

Comme Des Garcons Spring 2010

i had the feeling of happiness upon seeing this collection.a lot of patchwork and colors for spring got my attention.though i do not wear patchwork,or applique due to my age(DUUUHHHH) i decided to put it here as reference to what spring 2010 menswear forecast will be.

again,,deconstructed suits, stitched on top of another, layered long proportions,shorts-over-leggings,the middle eastern details.(prayer shawl tassles)sans gladiator sandals...
heart heart the collections footwear...

i forgot to add that i find her collection inspiring, fresh and whimsical.not to mention that its all about environmental recycling now.

kudos to Rei Kawakubo and her vision for spring 2010.

Givenchy Spring 2010

Ricardo Tisci's collection in one word FIERCE!!!-his collection imho,,has given fierceness in active sportswear a new meaning.Mosh pit couture was the word coined up by fashion writers since he started doing the short-over-legging for menswear 2 seasons ago.the collection was inspired by a Latino going to North Africa.

the collection reminded me of Kris van Assche's , deconstructed suits, the short-over-leggings finished with gladiator sandals.gladiator sandals?hmmmmm....whats with the short-over-leggings gladiator sandal trend?

will it be the trend ill be seeing in Qatar soon?

Badgley Mischka Resort 2010

the designer duo presented a strong collection for resort 2010.they focused entirely on party clothes with a Buenois aires feel to it.Evitaism(i coined it) feel of the clothes, with fuschia, lilac, orange and red as their palette.
beautiful collection!

Elie Saab Fall 2009 Couture

my take on this collection- ive been following his career since 2002 and im surprised that Elie Saab made an all-white collection for fall 2009.

the collection focused more on the surface decorations,be it applique, beading, feathers, flowers and crystals.i felt that it the point of view was for a more younger customer.however, that being said,he also showed long dresses, that in my opinion looked like a totally separate collection.

plus marks for the intricate beading, appliques of his full collection.

minus points for his point of view.

Kris Van Assche Spring 2010

Dissonance was the theme of the spring 2010 collection of kris van Assche .he took the idea of east and west, cultures that are unique and different and blended them together.Assche conjured up the image of a North African in new York and took the western suit and deconstructed it paired it with very kurta like tops, bermudas,or lengthened its proportions,or short-over-leggings and finishing it with gladiator sandals.

speaking of gladiator sandals,i just bought a pair in Brands,a Men's specialty store in Qatar.me lovey lovey the black faux leather sandals that had straps you can tie up or down .i had fun wearing yesterday.all over Doha.i was even approached by someone and asked where i bought it.see???
trend alert!!!
if you see someone wearing the gladiator sandals matched with a long suit and bermudas this early,,,well dont be surprised if i caught early on.however that being said,,,the short-over-legging thing?hmmmmmmmm....
ill keep you posted...
